Animals in the classroom

There are many things to consider when having an animal in the classroom or dissecting. The advantages of having an animal is that it can teach students responsibility. Some students who don't have animals don't realize how much work an animal can be. I also think that having an animal can be good to teach students how to document their observations of living animals. Technology in the Classroom

Most teachers think that technology in the classroom means making power points and using a smart board. In my teaching classes that is what we have been taught as well. I have learned that technology in the classroom is so so so much more than that. Technology in the class room can be the use of Ipods with a lecture or lab on them creating two of the teacher in the classroom. Reflection on Inquiry

Until recently I didn't know what inquiry was or how to use it. None of my teachers growing up used it and I don't see it in the classroom I observe. I think students practicing inquiry is great. Science isn't always about doing the same experiment so that students can learn something specific about an experiment. I think science is about questioning, problem solving and exploring.
